Great cycling base

Second time I have taken my cycling group to Alpine velocity in Landry . Well organised accommodation with the benefit of cooked meals and a good storage location for the bikes . Our hosts Gerry and Sam made sure we had everything we needed and provided good advice on rides , weather etc . There is at least ten decent rides on the door step and more if you drive out first . Col de l'Iseran ridden over in minus five will live long in the memory . I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience the alpine passes from this great base .

An amazing find! Sam and Jerry our hosts, were welcoming and friendly and full of local knowledge, advice on places to visit and routes for cycling whatever the standard of cyclist. They provided us with great food and the little personal touches really made the clean and comfortable accommodation a home from home.A great location with great weather made our stay one to recommend.

Had a great time despite the best attempts of the weather. Perfect base for some stunning climbs both challenging and beautiful. Accommodation and food top notch. If it rains and France is wet it's not too far to drive over to Italy for some sunshine either!

Fab stay with Alpine Velo

Myself and 4 cycling pals spent a very enjoyable week in September staying with Alpine Velo at their Landry chalet near Bourg-Saint-Maurice. Lovely location, very nice accommodation and very hospitable hosts. The stay included half board breakfast and dinners (and tea/cake after a hard days cycling) produced to a very high home cooked standard with the minimum of fuss by our two friendly chalet hosts. Highly recommended and great for cyclists in every respect.

I stayed here with a group of 12 cyclists in Sept 2016 . The accommodation is great , Sam and her team looked after us very well . It's a great base for a lot of fabulous cycling routes all of which can be accessed easily from the property . We will return to tackle the climbs again and I would highly recommend Alpine Velo to anyone considering visiting this area of France .

Thank for you a marvelous and welcoming stay at your chalet. Landry serves as a perfect location for exploring the Savoie Region of the northern French Alps. We were able to ride and conquer Europe's highest paved mountain pass - the Col de L'Iseran, Cormet de Roselend and others - and to come back to a relaxing chalet and a great meal at the end of a hard day's ride.

Four of us, all members of a Surrey cycling club, stayed with Alpine Velo for 5 nights in July. All round, a brilliant cycling holiday. Landry is a great location. A lovely Alpine village but located on the valley floor to allow a warm up at the beginning of the day and then recovery at the end (albeit via a bar in Bourg St Maurice most days!). Easy access to several iconic climbs, all with stunning views, so plenty of challenge and variety. The chalet is of a high standard and spacious and the Alpine Velo catering perfect for the calorie burning cyclist. Thoroughly recommend a stay!

Wonderful Spot for Cycling

Stayed at Alpine Velo for a short cycling break with some friends recently - my first experience of Alpine cycling, and what an experience. Accommodation, basic but clean & comfortable, just what we wanted, food very good dinners - hats off to Sam & co., delicious dishes a few steps above what I had experienced on skiing holidays in similar accommodation set-ups. (Pasta & cake most flavoursome & welcome on our return in the afternoon also). Nice cycling also away from the well trodden paths of Bourg D'Oisans. Enjoyed Col de la Madeleine, but Cormet de Roselend was beautiful & no less enjoyable. Also managed a cycle to Italy - a truly international holiday. Also discovered the lovely 11k climb behind the chalet late in play - perfect for those who want to do a bit more after leaving their buddies back home!

What a fabulous stay we had. Beautiful freshly cooked meals, veggie and vegan needs catered for two of us, a fantastic friendly atmosphere, private dining and living room accommodation and of course great cycle routes all around.

A group of eight English and Irish cyclists descended on Alpine Velo in June. The venue turned out to be a perfect place for us. The village is perfectly placed between a range of mountains, and all could be reached by bike. The mountain climbs were tough, but the warmth of the welcome on our return was genuine. Fresh meals cooked every night, a fridge stocked with free beer, and - most importantly - a comfortable bed to crash into. The accommodation ranges from basic (reflected in the price) to an amazing penthouse with stunning views across the mountains. I opted for basic, which suited me down to the ground. I am delighted to recommend Alpine Velo to all cyclists.
