Are you ready for Tour de France col climbs?

Put yourself to the test on a self-guided road cycling holiday based at our friendly chalets near Bourg Saint Maurice, in the Savoie Mont Blanc region of the French Alps

Whether you’re a seasoned alpine cyclist or new to high altitude cycling, there’s an unforgettable alpine ride suitable for you – circular or out-and-back half or whole day rides, challenging Tour de France col climbs, and riverside rambles. All finish off with an easy return along the river valley back to base.

Alpine Velo’s self-guided road cycling holidays are mainly based at our bike chalet in Landry, a quaint alpine village (800m /2600 ft) in the Savoie’s Tarentaise mountains, just 7 kms along the valley floor from Bourg Saint Maurice. You can also stay 6km up the hill at our smaller chalet above Aime (we’ll pick you up if you don’t fancy the homeward climb!). Both chalets are right at the heart of some of the best cycling in the French Alps. The Savoie Mont Blanc area, although not as famous as neighbouring Alp d’Huez, has more col climbs and isn’t anywhere near as busy!

There are more than 10 stunning high altitude alpine cols and climbs you can start and finish at the chalet, including 4 featured regularly in the Tour de France, and many more in the surrounding Savoie area. more…

Need an easier climb to help you acclimatize or want a cool down ride to the finish the day? There are gentler options from the door too, including a (nearly) flat 12km riverside cycle path.  more…
